Unseating Bush, Main Priority For Democrats

(CPOD) Jun. 12, 2003 - Democratic Party supporters are looking for a presidential candidate that can get into the White House, according to a poll by Gallup. 62 per cent of respondents say they would prefer a nominee who can beat Republican George W. Bush in 2004, even if they disagree with his stance on issues.

Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman leads the field of Democratic presidential hopefuls with 20 per cent, followed by Massachusetts senator John Kerry and Missouri congressman Dick Gephardt.
