Travel Plans In U.S. Not Slowed By Economy, Terror
(CPOD) May 27, 2003 - Despite concerns about the economy and terrorism, most Americans are not altering their holiday arrangements this summer, according to a poll by the Associated Press. 80 per cent of respondents say current problems have no effect on their vacation plans.
The summer holiday season kicked off last weekend, after the country was put on "Orange" or "High" terror alert, after attacks in Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
Despite a sluggish economy, 50 per cent of respondents say they will be spending roughly the same amount of money on their vacation as they did last year, and 22 per cent say they will spend more.
