Swedes Might Reject Euro
Three EU member states are not using this coin yet.
(CPOD) Aug. 29, 2003 - The Krona appears to be winning against the Euro in Sweden, according to a poll by Danske Bank. 53 per cent of respondents would vote to reject the European currency.
Sweden will hold a plebiscite on Sept. 14, to gauge public opinion on whether or not to adopt the Euro, which has been used in 12 of the 15 European Union (EU) countries since Jan. 1, 2002. Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain are the only current EU members that have not adopted the currency.
