Russians Approve Of Putin

(CPOD) Jul. 25, 2003 - Vladimir Putin continues to enjoy positive numbers in Russia, according to a poll by the Russian Center for Public Opinion and Market Research. 78 per cent of respondents approve of the president's performance.
After a brief tour of Europe, Putin has focused his attention on creating a free trade zone with other former Soviet states. Russia is expected to join Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan in an economic alliance.
The president will seek a second four-year term in office in March 2004.
