Racism Present In Some Italian Teens
(CPOD) Jul. 8, 2003 - Some teenagers in Italy foster racist inclinations, according to a specifically designed questionnaire by Italian Jewry. Respondents were asked to agree or disagree with specific statements on immigration, Muslims and Jews. More than half of all surveyed teenagers believe immigrants foment prostitution. Results were similar in assessing the Muslim world, but lower when reviewing Jews.
Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi caused a stir last week, when he compared German socialist politician Martin Schulz with a Nazi concentration camp officer.
