Putin Best Russian Leader Since 1917

(CPOD) Oct. 4, 2003 - Russians believe current president Vladimir Putin is the best leader in the country's history after the 1917 Revolution, according to a poll by Russian Public Opinion and Market Study. 39 per cent of respondents say Putin is the most important figure of the last 86 years.
Communist party leader Leonid Brezhnev --the de-facto ruler of the Soviet Union from 1964 to 1982-- was the only other man with more than 10 per cent.
