PRI Ahead In Latest Mexican Poll
(CPOD) Jun. 30, 2003 - The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI)—which ruled Mexico for 71 years—would be the top political force in the Chamber of Deputies, according to a poll published in Milenio. 42 per cent of respondents would vote for the PRI, while 36 per cent would back the National Action Party (PAN) of president Vicente Fox.
Despite the lead for the PRI, it appears unlikely that any party will hold a majority in the Mexican Chamber of Deputies. The election will take place on Jul. 6.
