Poverty, Hunger Key Issues In Worldwide Poll
(CPOD) Nov. 7, 2004 - The fight against poverty and hunger should be the key priority for the world, according to the Voice of the People survey released by Gallup International. 44 per cent of all respondents believe the two topics are important global objectives.
Developing global partnerships, achieving environmental sustainability, combating diseases, and education were also regarded as important causes.
In every surveyed region of the world, the fight against poverty and hunger topped the list of concerns, with the highest percentages coming in the Middle East (Egypt, Turkey and Israel), West Asia (India and Pakistan) and Latin America.
