Penn Residents Feel Economic Letdown

(CPOD) Apr. 25, 2003 - Residents of Pennsylvania say their economic conditions are deteriorating, according to a poll by Millersville University. 30 per cent of respondents say their current financial situation is worse than in 2002.
Still, Pennsylvanians are satisfied with their government. 55 per cent of respondents say the state is headed in the right direction. Former Philadelphia mayor Edward G. Rendell has been the state's governor since January 2003. The Democrat was elected after eight consecutive years of Republican administrations, which included a period under current homeland security director Tom Ridge.
