Pakistanis Support Hussein, Boycott U.S. Products
(CPOD) Apr. 9, 2003 - Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is extremely popular in Pakistan, according to a poll by Gallup published in Herald magazine. 85 per cent of respondents want Hussein to remain in power, and not a single one supports the United States-led military campaign to topple his regime.
Most respondents also express their willingness to boycott American products, and their disappointment with the United Nations (UN). Pakistan—regarded as a key ally in the war on terror because of its proximity to Afghanistan—is not listed as one of the 49 members of the coalition.
