Lieberman Top Democrat In Michigan, But Bush Leads

(CPOD) May 28, 2003 - Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman leads the Democratic presidential race in Michigan, according to a poll by EPIC/MRA released by the Detroit News. 27 per cent of respondents would vote for Lieberman in the presidential caucus. Missouri congressman Dick Gephardt is second, with 19 per cent.
The only other presidential hopeful with more than 10 per cent is Massachusetts senator John Kerry. 20 per cent of respondents are undecided. Michigan's Democratic caucus is set for Feb. 7, 2004.
Current president George W. Bush remains the favourite politician in the state, as 48 per cent of respondents would vote for him in 2004. 41 per cent would support the Democratic nominee.
