Japanese Worried About Terrorism

Abstract: (CPOD) Jan. 29, 2004 - Many Japanese residents are worried about terrorism, according to a poll by Asahi Shimbun. 48 per cent of respondents are "somewhat concerned" about a possible attack in their country, and a further 37 per cent are "very concerned."

(CPOD) Jan. 29, 2004 - Many Japanese residents are worried about terrorism, according to a poll by Asahi Shimbun. 48 per cent of respondents are "somewhat concerned" about a possible attack in their country, and a further 37 per cent are "very concerned."

The last terrorist attack in Japanese soil occurred in March 1995, when followers of the Aun Shinrikyo cult released sarin gas into the Tokyo subway system. 12 people died and more than 5,000 were injured.
