Intelligence Agencies To Blame For 9/11
(CPOD) Jul. 29, 2003 - Americans believe government intelligence agencies could have prevented the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, according to a Princeton Survey Research Associates published in Newsweek. 72 per cent of all respondents say the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) are partly to blame for the attacks.
Last week, intelligence committees in the United States House of Representatives and Senate released an 800-page report on the attacks. The document cites "missed opportunities" to disrupt terrorist activity prior to 9/11.
The White House announced today that certain parts of the report will remain secret, so as not to publish sources and methods during the ongoing war on terrorism.
