Hondurans Reject Presence In Iraq
(CPOD) Sept. 18, 2003 - The government's decision to send soldiers to Iraq is not supported by a majority of Hondurans, according to a poll by CID Gallup. Only 29 per cent of respondents agree with the deployment of troops in the Persian Gulf.
The Central American country is listed as one of the 49 members of the U.S.-led coalition. Last month, president Ricardo Maduro ordered the deployment of 370 soldiers, currently serving under Spanish command as part of a humanitarian effort in the outskirts of Najaf.
