Hillary, McCain Ahead in Rhode Island
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Voting intention surveys conducted in the Ocean State place Republican John McCain and Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton as the favourite contenders in today’s United States presidential primaries.
In a poll of Republican Party voters in Rhode Island conducted by American Research Group, the Arizona senator is in first place with 65 per cent, followed by former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee with 18 per cent, and Texas congressman Ron Paul with seven per cent.
Among Democratic Party voters, the New York senator is ahead in four studies, with the support of at least 42 per cent of respondents. Illinois senator Barack Obama is second, with a high of 37 per cent.
