High Support For Free Trade Agreement In Costa Rica

(CPOD) Jun. 4, 2003 - Costa Ricans welcome the planned free trade agreement between their country and the United States, according to a poll by Unimer published in daily La Nación. 64 per cent of respondents support the proposed deal.

Several Central American countries entered free trade talks with the U.S. last January. The agreement would reduce or eliminate taxes and tariffs on imports. Both factions are expected to draft a definite compromise by the end of this year.
