Exiled Cubans Have U.S. On Their Minds
(CPOD) Jul. 14, 2003 - Cuban Americans are more concerned with their life in the United States than with the political situation in the island, according to a poll by Hamilton Beattie & Staff for the Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, published in the Miami Herald. 62 per cent of respondents say improving their conditions in South Florida is the first thing on their minds.
Cuban Americans have differing opinions on the future of the island. 49 per cent of respondents would back military action against Fidel Castro, but 68 per cent say current residents of Cuba should decide what to do about their political system.
