Europeans Favour Common Defence And Security

(CPOD) Jul. 29, 2003 - Residents of the European Union (EU) support the establishment of a common defence and security policy, according to the results of the latest Eurobarometer. 74 per cent of respondents in all countries believe there should be universal protection and safety guidelines among EU member states.
Support for the defence policy was strongest in Luxembourg, Italy and Greece, while less than half of respondents in Britain concurred.
