Confidence In War On Terror Dips After Latest Attacks
(CPOD) May 29, 2003 - Americans are less certain about an eventual victory over terrorism, according to a poll by Gallup released by CNN and USA Today. 54 per cent of respondents say the United States and its allies are winning the war on terror, an 11 per cent drop since April.
Recent terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia and Morocco, allegedly linked to the al-Qaeda network, prompted higher security measures in the U.S. and some overseas interests.
Approval for president George W. Bush dropped slightly but remains high, at 66 per cent.
