Bush Rating Stable

(CPOD) Oct. 16, 2003 - The numbers for George W. Bush have stabilized after a significant drop over the last three weeks, according to a poll by ABC News and the Washington Post. 53 per cent of respondents approve of the president's performance,

Bush gets the highest marks in the campaign against terrorism. 50 per cent of respondents approve of the way the American president has dealt with the situation in Iraq, but 51 per cent are not satisfied with his economic policies.

Today, the United Nations (UN) Security Council adopted a U.S.-backed resolution that calls for an expanded role of other countries in Iraq. The U.S. Congress is currently debating Bush's request for $87 billion U.S. to continue with military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
