Bush Leads All Candidates In Oregon

(CPOD) Sept. 21, 2004 - George W. Bush and Dick Cheney could carry the state of Oregon in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to according to the MSNBC/Knight Ridder poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. 47 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbents, while 43 per cent would support the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards.

One per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Peter Camejo, and nine per cent remain undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Democrat Al Gore carried Oregon's seven electoral votes in the 2000 presidential election, defeating Bush by 6,765 ballots. The last Republican to win the state was Ronald Reagan in 1984.
