Bush Has Slim Lead In Wisconsin

(CPOD) Sept. 21, 2004 - George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have a slim advantage in the state of Wisconsin, according to according to the MSNBC/Knight Ridder poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. 46 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbents in the 2004 United States presidential election, while 44 per cent would support the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards.

One per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader and running mate Peter Camejo, and nine per cent remain undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Democrat Al Gore won the state's 11 electoral votes in the 2000 election, defeating Bush by just over 5,000 ballots. The last Republican to carry Wisconsin was Ronald Reagan in 1984.
