Bush Gets Higher Approval, Economy Rating

November 29, 2004

(CPOD) Nov. 29, 2004 - George W. Bush continues to re-gain public backing in the United States, according to a poll by American Research Group. 51 per cent of respondents approve of the president's performance, a six per cent increase since October.

In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the White House. Earlier this month, Republican incumbent Bush earned a second term after securing 286 electoral votes from 31 states.

On Nov. 26, Bush referred to the political crisis in Ukraine, saying, "There's just a lot of allegations of vote fraud that placed the validity of their elections in doubt. (...) Hopefully it will be resolved in a way that brings credit and confidence to the Ukrainian government."

Bush's numbers improved on the financial side as well. 45 per cent of respondents approve of how Bush is handling the economy, a five per cent increase in a month.
