Bush Drops Below 50%
(CPOD) Sept. 26, 2003 - The rating for George W. Bush fell below 50 per cent for the first time, according to a poll by NBC and the Wall Street Journal. 49 per cent of respondents disapprove of the president's performance.
Bush's rating has been affected by the long campaign in the Persian Gulf, and questions about economic policy. Since the start of the war six months ago, more than 300 American soldiers have died.
The American president addressed the nation on Sept. 7, and outlined his plan to request $87 billion U.S. to continue military operations. This weekend, Bush will host meetings with Russian president Vladimir Putin at Camp David.
