Bush Close To Pre 9/11 Numbers In California
(CPOD) Jul. 19, 2003 - George W. Bush is losing support in California, according to a poll by Field. 49 per cent of respondents approve of the president's performance, a 14 per cent drop in a year.
The numbers give Bush his lowest rating in the state since early September 2001—before the 9/11 terrorist attacks—when 42 per cent of Californians supported the president.
In the 2000 United States presidential election, Bush garnered 41.6 per cent of the vote in California, while Democrat Al Gore got 53.4 per cent, and the state's 54 electoral votes.
