Bush Aproval After War Lower Than His Father’s
(CPOD) Apr. 21, 2003 - The overall rating for George W. Bush remains high in the United States, but the current president's rally after a war is smaller than that of his father, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. 72 per cent of respondents approve of Bush's policies.
In 1991, president George H. Bush had a 74 per cent approval rating at the start of the first Gulf War, and climbed as high as 85 per cent in the weeks after the campaign was over.
Bush has made no substantial gains when it comes to the 2004 presidential election. 51 per cent of respondents say they would re-elect the current head fo state, while 36 per cent would back the Democratic nominee.
