June 10, 2003

The survey listed the names of nine world leaders, including United Nations (UN) secretary-general Kofi Annan—who barely edged Blair for top spot in the United Kingdom—and Osama bin Laden.

Russian president Vladimir Putin was among the top leaders in Britain and Canada, while Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon was third in the U.S. Bin Laden made the top three in the Palestinian territories, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan and Indonesia, according to partial results.
