Americans Want Involvement In Africa

(CPOD) Jul. 23, 2003 - In the heels of George W. Bush's trip to Africa, Americans believe their government should be more involved in the continent, according to a poll by Zogby America. 71 per cent of respondents think the United States should pay more attention to African countries.

The deployment of American troops to Liberia is being considered by the Bush administration, in an effort to end violent clashes between armed groups and the government of Charles Taylor. 46 per cent of respondents support the participation of American soldiers in peacekeeping activities.
