Americans Want Ban On Late Term Abortions
(CPOD) Nov. 12 2003 - Americans have taken sides in the latest abortion controversy, according to a poll by Gallup. 68 per cent of respondents say late term termination of pregnancy should be illegal.
President George W. Bush signed a federal restriction on late term abortions on Nov. 5, but the law was immediately challenged by U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf, who issued a temporary restraining order.
The law seeks to ban certain types of procedures on fetuses that are roughly 14 weeks or older. Judge Kopf claimed the legislation's wording is too vague.
