Americans Support Greenhouse Gas Reduction

October 29, 2003

(CPOD) Oct. 29, 2003 - Americans are eager to decrease industrial environmental damage, according to a poll by Zogby International commissioned by the National Wildlife Federation. 74 per cent of respondents support a reduction of gas emissions within the next seven years.

The U.S. Senate is expected to debate Bill S-139, sponsored by Joe Lieberman and John McCain. The plan calls for the enactment of mandatory restrictions on emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases. Critics say the proposal would have virtually no effect on global greenhouse gas levels.
