Americans Gauge Bush, Kerry On Issues
(CPOD) Mar. 30, 2004 - Americans believe current president George W. Bush would handle three key issues better than Massachusetts senator John Kerry, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 59 per cent of respondents say the Republican would do a good job in dealing with terrorism than the prospective democratic nominee.
Bush gets better marks than Kerry in the areas of Iraq and taxes. Conversely, 52 per cent of respondents say the Massachusetts senator would be superior to Bush on social security.
The prospective Democratic nominee beats Bush in the economy, health care, same-sex marriage and issues related to Medicare and prescription drugs. The United States presidential election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
