Americans Believe Hussein Was Involved In 9/11

(CPOD) Sept. 10, 2003 - Despite the absence of conclusive evidence, many Americans think Saddam Hussein participated in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a poll by the Washington Post. 69 per cent of respondents believe the deposed Iraqi leader was personally involved in the operation.

A higher number of Americans say there was a personal connection between Hussein and Osama bin Laden. 82 per cent of respondents believe the deposed leader provided assistance to the al-Qaeda network.

A new videotape purportedly featuring bin Laden was shown today on Arabic television network Al-Jazeera.
