Americans Assess Role In Middle East
(CPOD) Apr. 7, 2003 - Many Americans continue to support the war in Iraq, but have different views on how to deal with other world trouble spots, according to a poll by the Los Angeles Times. 77 per cent of respondents back the military campaign to topple Saddam Hussein's regime.
Recent news developments have affected opinions on what to do with two other nations. 50 per cent of respondents say the United States should take military action against Iran, if the country insists on developing a nuclear weapons program. 42 per cent want similar action against Syria, after defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld alleged that the country might have provided military supplies to Iraq.
