A Palestinian State Is Possible, Both Sides Say

July 02, 2003

(CPOD) Jul. 2, 2003 - Israelis and Palestinians agree on a key element of the proposed road map for peace in the Middle East, according to a TNS Teleseeker and the Palestine Center for Public Opinion. At least 50 per cent of respondents believe a full-fledged Palestinian state is possible.

An independent Palestine is considered the main provision of the road map for peace, developed by the United States, the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) and Russia.

The peace process was boosted last week as radical Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad agreed to a three-month truce.
