Fox News U.S. Poll: Bush 47%, Kerry 45%

Abstract: (CPOD) Oct. 5, 2004 - The 2004 United States presidential race remains close, according to a poll by Opinion Dynamics released by Fox News. 47 per cent of respondents would vote for Republican incumbent George W. Bush in the election, while 45 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.

(CPOD) Oct. 5, 2004 - The 2004 United States presidential race remains close, according to a poll by Opinion Dynamics released by Fox News. 47 per cent of respondents would vote for Republican incumbent George W. Bush in the election, while 45 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.

One per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, and seven per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Support for Bush increased by one per cent since late September, while backing for Kerry went up by three per cent. In early September, the Republican held a four per cent lead over the Democrat.

Methodology: Telephone interviews to 1,000 likely American voters, conducted on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4, 2004. Margin of error is 3 per cent.
