In Indiana, Bush Keeps Upper Hand

(CPOD) Oct. 4, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Indiana in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 53 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 40 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Two per cent of respondents would vote for another contender and five per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Bush won Indiana's 12 electoral votes in the 2000 election with 56.5 per cent of all cast ballots. No Democrat has carried the state since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
