Montana Strongly Behind Bush

(CPOD) Sept. 27, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Montana in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. released by Lee Newspapers. 54 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 36 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Two per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, while eight per cent remain undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Support for Bush increased by one per cent since May, while backing for Kerry grew by three per cent.
Bush won Montana's three electoral votes in 2000, with 58 per cent of all cast ballots. Bill Clinton in 1992 is the only Democrat who has carried the state in the last nine presidential elections.
