Kansas Keeps Bush In First Place

(CPOD) Sept. 23, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Kansas in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 57 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 35 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Two per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, one per cent would support another contender and six per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Bush carried the state's six electoral votes in the 2000 presidential election, with 58 per cent of all cast ballots. No Democrat has won Kansas since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
