Rhode Island Gives Kerry Solid Lead

(CPOD) Sept. 23, 2004 - John Kerry would carry the state of Rhode Island, according to a poll by SurveyUSA released by WLNE-TV. 55 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic nominee in the 2004 United States presidential election, while 37 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.
Four per cent of respondents would vote for another candidate and four per cent remain undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Democrat Al Gore carried the state's four electoral votes in the 2000 election, with 61 per cent of the vote. No Republican has won Rhode Island since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
