Bush Would Carry Mississippi In 2004

Abstract: (CPOD) Sept. 22, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Mississippi in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 51 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 42 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.

(CPOD) Sept. 22, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Mississippi in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 51 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 42 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.

One per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, one per cent would support another contender and five per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Bush won Mississippi's seven electoral votes in the 2000 election with 57.6 per cent of all cast ballots. No Democrat has carried the state since Jimmy Carter in 1976.
