Bush Has Commanding Lead In Utah

(CPOD) Sept. 20, 2004 - George W. Bush would carry the state of Utah in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 64 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican incumbent, while 27 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.
Four per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader, one per cent would support another contender and five per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
The state's five electoral votes went to Bush in 2000, with 67.2 per cent of all cast ballots. The last Democrat to carry Utah was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
