Kerry Has Upper Hand In Vermont

Abstract: (CPOD) Sept. 18, 2004 - John Kerry would carry the state Vermont in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 50 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic nominee, while 40 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.

(CPOD) Sept. 18, 2004 - John Kerry would carry the state Vermont in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 50 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic nominee, while 40 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.

Four per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader and seven per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.

Democrat Al Gore won Vermont's three electoral votes in the 2000 election, with 50.7 per cent of all cast ballots. No Republican has carried the state since George H. Bush in 1988.
