Kerry Is Ahead In Hawaii

(CPOD) Sept. 18, 2004 - John Kerry would carry the state of Hawaii in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by American Research Group. 51 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democratic nominee, while 41 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.
Four per cent of respondents would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader and four per cent are undecided. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Democrat Al Gore won Hawaii's four electoral votes in the 2000 election, with 55.8 per cent of the vote. Richard Nixon in 1972 and Ronald Reagan in 1984 are the only Republicans who have carried the state in the past 11 presidential contests.
