(CPOD) Apr. 11, 2003 – The fall of Baghdad has not led Americans to believe the war in Iraq is over, according to a poll by Gallup released by CNN and USA Today. 81 per cent of respondents say either major battles or minor fighting are to be expected in the following days.

(CPOD) Apr. 11, 2003 – New Yorkers do not support the military campaign against Saddam Hussein’s regime as much as other Americans, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 50 per cent of respondents say they back the operation.

(CPOD) Apr. 10, 2003 – Colombian president lvaro Uribe maintains a high approval rating, but residents are concerned about his policies in two important areas, according to a poll by Invamer-Gallup published in El Tiempo. 68 per cent of respondents approve of Uribe’s government so far.

Americans Assess War Coverage, Shunned Stories

(CPOD) Apr. 10, 2003 – Americans are mostly content with the amount of war coverage they get, but many think it has been “too much,” according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. 55 per cent of respondents say the media has provided the right quantity of coverage on the Iraq conflict, while 39 per cent feel overloaded.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – The first 100 days of government for Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki have been successful, according to a poll by Strategic Public Relations and Research of Nairobi commissioned by the Nation Media Group. 74 per cent of respondents approve of Kibaki’s administration so far.

(CPOD) Apr. 10, 2003 – Residents of Portugal are not happy with the performance of Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, according to a poll by Marktest. 53 per cent of respondents say the prime minister’s administration has been bad or very bad.

Pakistanis Support Hussein, Boycott U.S. Products

(CPOD) Apr. 9, 2003 – Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is extremely popular in Pakistan, according to a poll by Gallup published in Herald magazine. 85 per cent of respondents want Hussein to remain in power, and not a single one supports the United States-led military campaign to topple his regime.

(CPOD) Apr. 9, 2003 – Almost two-thirds of respondents in the state of New York want to replace current governor George Pataki, according to a poll by Zogby International. Only 30 per cent of respondents want Pataki to run again, a number that drops down to 17 per cent among residents of New York City.
