(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - French prime minister François Fillon is slightly more popular than the country’s president, according to a poll by Viavoice published in Libération. 54 per cent of respondents are satisfied with Fillon’s performance, while 48 per cent feel the same way about Nicolas Sarkozy.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - French adults are evenly divided in their assessment of Nicolas Sarkozy, according to a poll by Ipsos published in Le Point. 49 per cent of respondents hold a favourable opinion of the president’s performance, while 49 per cent disagree.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Australian Labor Party (ALP) remains the dominant force in the country’s political scene, according to a poll by Newspoll published in The Australian. 44 per cent of respondents would support the ALP in the next election to the House of Representatives.

Security is Key Issue in Israeli Election
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Almost half of people in Israel believe security and peace are the most important electoral issues at this time, according to the Peace Index Project by the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research and the Evens Program in Mediation and Conflict Resolution of Tel Aviv University. 47 per cent of respondents think a party’s position on security and peace will matter the most when they decide who to support in February’s election to the Knesset.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Adults in the United States appear satisfied with the outcome of the 2008 presidential election, according to a poll by Gallup released by USA Today. 67 per cent of respondents feel proud optimistic Democratic nominee Barack Obama being elected president, and 67 per cent feel proud.
