- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Fine Gael has become the most popular political organization in Ireland, according to a poll by TNS mrbi published in the Irish Times. 34 per cent of respondents would support the opposition party in the next legislative ballot, up 11 points since June.

Canadians More Hopeful on Obama Than Americans
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Adults in Canada are more likely to expect great things from the American president-elect than people in the United States, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 84 per cent of Canadians think the recent election of Barack Obama will help the overall direction of the U.S., and 55 per cent of Americans concur.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - More than one third of Romanians will back the Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L) in this month’s legislative ballot, according to a poll by INSOMAR released by Realitatea TV. 37 per cent of respondents would vote for the PD-L.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Public support for Kevin Rudd remains high in Australia, according to a poll by Newspoll published in The Australian. 65 per cent of respondents are satisfied with the performance of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) leader and prime minister.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The opposition Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD) remains ahead of all rivals in the country’s political scene, according to a poll by Median. 38.1 per cent of respondents would vote for the CSSD in the next election.

PM Fillon Outranks Sarkozy in France
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - French prime minister François Fillon is slightly more popular than the country’s president, according to a poll by Viavoice published in Libération. 54 per cent of respondents are satisfied with Fillon’s performance, while 48 per cent feel the same way about Nicolas Sarkozy.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The New Democratic Party (NDP) holds the lead in British Columbia, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 44 per cent of respondents in the Canadian province would vote for the BC NDP in next year’s provincial election, up three points since August.
