- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Balbina Herrera of the Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD) is still the most popular presidential contender in Panama, according to a poll by Dichter & Neira released by TVN Noticias and Panamá América. 34.3 per cent of respondents would vote for Herrera in next year’s ballot.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Likud party is ahead of all rivals in Israel, according to a poll by New Wave published in Yisrael Hayom. A prospective tally shows Likud could win 33 seats in next year’s legislative election, up four seats since October.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The opposition Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) is now the most popular political party in Greece, according to a poll by ALCO published in Ta Nea. 30.3 per cent of respondents would vote for PASOK in the next general election.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Public support for Alan García remains low in Peru, according to a poll by Ipsos, Apoyo, Opinión y Mercado published in El Comercio. Only 19 per cent of respondents approve of the president’s performance, down three points since October.

CDU-CSU Maintain Upper Hand in Germany
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Christian-Democratic Union (CDU) and the Bavarian Christian-Social Party (CSU) remain the most popular political organizations in Germany, according to a poll by Forsa released by Stern and RTL. 37 per cent of respondents would vote for either party in the next election to the Federal Diet, up one point since late October.

Canadians Would Leave Afghanistan Before 2011
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Many adults in Canada believe their government’s commitment to the mission in Afghanistan should come to an end soon, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 53 per cent of respondents want the bulk of Canadian troops to be withdrawn from Afghanistan before 2011.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Adults in Uganda hold differing views on the way Yoweri Museveni has done his job, according to a poll by Steadman Group. 32 per cent of respondents think the president has performed better in his current term, 27 per cent feel he has worked in the same fashion as before, and 36 per cent believe he has been worse.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - A majority of adults in Norway are against a bid to join the European Union (EU), according to a poll by Sentio-Norsk Statistic published in Klassekampen. 53.4 per cent of respondents do not want to enter the continental group, while 34.6 per cent disagree.

Israelis Ponder Lists of Knesset Candidates
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - A third of adults in Israel want Benny Begin to be the second name in the list of Likud party legislative contenders, according to a poll by Shvakim Panorama released by Israel Radio. 32.9 per cent of respondents choose Begin, while 23.6 per cent would prefer former foreign minister Silvan Shalom.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Public support for the administration headed by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono increased this month in Indonesia, according to a poll by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI). 62 per cent of respondents are satisfied with the president’s leadership, up 17 points since June.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The political scene in the United Kingdom has tightened, according to a poll by YouGov published in the Sunday Times. 41 per cent of respondents would vote for the opposition Conservative party, while 35 per cent would back the governing Labour party.
