- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama leads Republican John McCain in the Silver State, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation. 49 per cent of respondents in Nevada would back the Illinois senator in this year’s United States presidential election, while 44 per cent would support the Arizona senator.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The governing Conservative party is leading Canada’s federal political scene, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies released by the Toronto Star. 36 per cent of respondents would vote for the Tories in the next election to the House of Commons, while 28 per cent would support the Liberal party.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Austrian People’s Party (OVP) remains the most popular political organization in the country, according to a poll by OGM. 31 per cent of respondents would vote for the conservative party in the next federal election, up one point since late July.

U.S. 2008: Obama 47.6%, McCain 43.6%
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama remains ahead of Republican John McCain in the United States presidential race, according to a review of five voting intention surveys conducted over the past ten days. 47.6 per cent of voters would support the Illinois senator, while 43.6 per cent would support the Arizona senator.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama could carry the Golden State in this year’s United States presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 54 per cent of respondents in California would vote for the Illinois senator, while 41 per cent would back Republican Arizona senator John McCain.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - People in Mexico have grown uneasy about the way democracy works in their country, according to a poll by Reforma. 54 per cent of respondents are dissatisfied with the democratic system, up 10 points since February 2007.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Germany’s top conservative parties have maintained their high support rate this month, according to a poll by Forsa released by Stern and RTL. 37 per cent of respondents would vote for the Christian-Democratic Union (CDU) or the Bavarian Christian-Social Party (CSU) in the next election to the Federal Diet, unchanged since early August.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - New Zealand’s governing Labour party remains second to the opposition National but has gained momentum, according to a poll by DigiPoll published in the New Zealand Herald. 50 per cent of respondents would back the conservative National in this year’s election to the House of Representatives, down 5.4 points since July.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in Hong Kong continue to endorse Donald Tsang, according to a poll by the Hong Kong University Public Opinion Programme. The approval rating for the territory’s chief executive stands at 54.1 points, practically unchanged since early August.
