(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Republican John McCain could carry the Cornhusker State in this year’s United States presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 52 per cent of respondents would vote for the Arizona senator, while 36 per cent would back Illinois senator Barack Obama.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama is ahead of Republican John McCain in the North Star State, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 54 per cent of respondents in Minnesota would back the Illinois senator in this year’s United States presidential election, while 37 per cent would vote for the Arizona senator.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama holds the upper hand in the Badger State, according to a poll by SurveyUSA. 52 per cent of respondents in Wisconsin would vote for the Illinois senator in this year’s United States presidential election, while 43 per cent would back Arizona senator John McCain.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Ireland’s governing party continues to be the most popular political organization in the country, according to a poll by Red C published in the Sunday Business Post. 40 per cent of respondents would vote for Fianna Fáil in the next legislative election, unchanged since April.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The majority of people in Nicaragua are dissatisfied with the leadership of Daniel Ortega, according to a poll by CID-Gallup published in La Prensa. 56 per cent of respondents rate their president’s performance as bad or very bad, up 13 points since February.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Hungarian Citizens Party (Fidesz) has maintained a solid lead over the ruling party, according to a poll by Tarki. 61 per cent of decided voters would back the largest opposition party in the next legislative election, down six points since May.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Australia’s governing party has gained public support this month, according to a poll by Roy Morgan International. 52 per cent of respondents would vote for the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in the next election to the House of Representatives, up 3.5 points since early June.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Britain’s governing Labour party continues to trail the opposition but has gained some public backing this month, according to a poll by YouGov published in the Daily Telegraph. 28 per cent of respondents would vote for Labour in the next election to the House of Commons, up three points since mid-June.
