(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Republican John McCain could carry the Bluegrass State in this year’s United States presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 52 per cent of respondents in Kentucky would vote for the Arizona senator, while 42 per cent would back Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama.

Canadians Worried About Health, Arts with Tories

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Many Canadian adults believe two situations are likely to happen if the Conservative party forms a majority government after this month’s federal election, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies released by the Toronto Star. 64 per cent of respondents think the role of private health care providers would be expanded, and 64 per cent say that funding for programs related to the arts and film will be reduced.

Palestinians Support Regulating Arms Permits

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The vast majority of people in the Palestinian Territories would support a measure to restrict the use of firearms to security apparatuses only, according to a poll by An-Najah National University. 71.3 per cent of respondents would be in favour of such a measure.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in Russia are content with their country’s financial status, according to a poll by the Public Opinion Foundation. 57 per cent of respondents say the state of Russia’s economy is satisfactory, while 22 per cent say it is poor.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Britain’s Conservative party has lost some support this month but remains in a comfortable position to win the next legislative ballot, according to a poll by ICM Research published in The Guardian. 42 per cent of respondents would support the Tories in the next election to the House of Commons, down two points since mid-August.
